What’s the story?
Former Liverpool star Coutinho has been been offered to Milan, according to Marca.
The Italian giants are reportedly considering signing the Brazil international, who can also play as a winger.
Mundo Deportivo have also reported that the 29-year-old’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, has made contact with Milan.
The Rossoneri need to sign a creative player following the departure of Hakan Calhanoglu.
Calhanoglu has left AC Milan and join city-rivals and defending Italian champions Inter Milan on a free transfer.
Philippe Coutinho’s Liverpool dream
Contact may have been made with Milan, but Coutinho’s dream is to play for Liverpool.
That’s according to a report in Sport last month.
It was claimed that the midfielder’s dream is to go back to Liverpool, but the Merseyside club are not looking to sign the 29-year-old, described by his Brazil international teammate and Reds forward Roberto Firmino as a “phenomenal” player who has “magical powers”, as quoted on FIFA.com in October 2020.
AC Milan move makes sense
If Liverpool are not willing to re-sign Coutinho and Milan want him, then it would make sense for the 29-year-old to join the Italian club.
Coutinho was successful during his time at Liverpool, but the Reds have moved on.
The Brazilian may not have a starting place in the system that Liverpool now play under manager Klopp.
