Gabby Agbonlahor has urged Aston Villa to ‘put in a bid’ for rumoured Arsenal target, Renato Sanches, as he posted on Sky Sports’ Instagram page.

Arsenal defender, Gabriel, recently urged Sanches on Instagram to join the North London club – and now Agbonlahor wants Aston Villa to ‘steal’ a possible move for the player.

The 23-year-old Lille midfielder enjoyed a strong Euro 2020 tournament, despite Portugal getting knocked out of the last-16 stages – that’s after winning the Ligue 1 title last season.

It has been suggested by 90 Min that Arsenal want to sign the £21 million-rated midfield powerhouse.

And following Gabriel’s comments, Sky Sports posted about the story on Instagram and Agbonlahor issued this response in the comments section.

“@avfcofficial another one you can steal,” said Agbonlahor. “Get the bid in.” added with a laughing emoji.”

Aston Villa have already broken their club transfer record to sign Emiliano Buendia, who seemingly rejected Arsenal to move to the Midlands from Norwich.

Now, given that Sanches will be playing Champions League football next season with Lille, if he had to leave then it surely would be for a team that’s playing in the biggest domestic tournament.

That rules out both Aston Villa and Arsenal, who are both preparing this summer to get into Europe for next season.

Either way, with Villa getting Buendia ahead of Arsenal and now seemingly trying to lure Emile Smith Rowe towards their direction, both clubs have been clashing quite a bit during these early exchanges of the summer transfer window.
