Accra Hearts of Oak get winning boost ahead of Kotoko showdown


Accra Hearts of Oak have recorded two consecutive wins as morale boaster ahead of the much anticipated showdown in Accra with arch-rivals Asante Kotoko.

Accra Hearts of Oak were able to pip Dansoman Liberty Professionals by a lone goal on the Match Day 16 of the Ghana Premier League 2020/21 season.
Isaac Mensah got the lone goal for the Phobians as they ensured they bagged all three points.

Prior to this the first half had ended as stalemate as both sides failed to register a goal amidst squandering numerous chances created.

The goal was scored in the second half after Isaac Mensah who was brought in a substitute got Hearts on top after 74 minutes of play.

The Phobians after experiencing some struggles in their recent matches were able to beat Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs 3-2 on Sunday before winning against Liberty Professionals on Wednesday.

This ensures they have two straight wins which puts them in good shape before meeting Kotoko. The win puts Hearts of Oak at 6th position with 23 points.

Meanwhile Asante Kotoko will play host to Bechem United on Thursday at 6pm at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The two giants were supposed to meet on match day 14 but was postponed due to Kotoko’s CAF Confederations Cup match with ES Setif.
