30 minutes live, top coaches talk about the days play and look ahead to tomorrow. All from a coaching perspective
For the coaches or wannabe coaches among you, thehockeysite.com should already be among your most visited bookmarks. But for those who can’t get enough of it during the Tokyo Games, The Hockey Site now features a daily live coach chat “Tokyo Daily”.
Every day they go live for 30 minutes at 4pm (UK time). That’s 8am EDT for the USA west coast or Vancouver in Canada, 12pm in Buenos Aires, 5pm if you’re from Europe or most of Africa, 8:30pm in India or 11pm in Perth Australia.
During these 30 minutes live some top coaches talk about the games from earlier that day and look ahead to the next day. All from a coaching perspective… And, you get to ask them your own questions as well. Before and after the virtual lounge will be open for coaches who want to meet up with fellow coaches from around the world. Meet old or new friends, host some watch parties at our virtual tables or just have a chat about the game we love.
On day 1 of the Games, July 24, we will open the Tokyo Daily series with Siegfried Aikman, head coach of Japan, who will have played that same day the opening games vs Australia. So we asked Ben Bishop, U21 Coach for Australia to join in and share his thoughts. Hosts (almost) every day will be Todd Williams, a former Australian international player coaching in the UK these days. And Tim White, until recently the U21 coach for the women of Australia and these days in Belgium as the assistant coach for their national women’s team, the Red Panthers.
Other guest coaches already confirmed for the other days include the likes of Adam Commens, former Australian international and High-Performance Director for Belgium. Others are Moabi Malebye from South Africa, Lucas Judge – former assistant trainer for the Dutch national women, Nacho Bergner from Argentina and Jeroen Baart – the U21 coach for Belgium who brought many of the exciting young talents we see flourish these days in the Red Lions.
