Hockey Australia CEO Matt Favier “Resigns”
Australian Hockey CEO Matt Favier has resigned from the role he has held since 2017. During his tenure, Favier has overseen some of the most challenging times for Hockey Australia, with an independent review damning Favier and his staff for creating a “toxic & dysfunctional culture”.
Favier’s position grew even more untenable as new coaches and staff refused to be directed and swayed by Favier’s personal opinions on squad selections, legal battles from players and a failed attempt at forcing players out of the performance set up.
With less than a month to go to the Tokyo Olympics, Australia Hockey will now begin searching for a new CEO.
