What should I do with my Sky Fantasy 2nd Team? – Sky Fantasy Football Forum

With one week to go before season launch, I’m still yet to decide what I’ll be doing with my 2nd team and some of you may be in the same boat. By running through the options, I hope to to help myself, and you, figure out what to do.

Nothing

You could do this, but it seems a bit of a waste.

Play two completely separate teams

Can’t choose between Willian and Fabregas? Or Aguero and Jesus? Play with two teams and you don’t have to choose!

Try out something different

Fancy seeing if playing with 5 defenders would work? Or punting on players you wouldn’t usually? This option could be for you.

Play the same moves as your first team

Why would you do this? Well, firstly you don’t need to think of a whole different team – I know my one team takes up enough headspace! You can also hedge your bets by splitting captaincy strategy or even wait until there is a big decision later in the season (there is always one).

Enter into the 2nd chance league

Interesting one this. Not many will know, but Sky have upped their 2nd chance prize this year to a cheeky £10,000. Nice! Here is what Sky have to say on the league:

Awarded to the highest scoring manager at the end of the 2017/18 season. Teams entered between 00:01 on 13th August to 12:30 on 9th September are eligible:

So enter your 2nd team between kick off and 13th of August and play a separate league with the chance to win £10,000. Unfortunately, if you have already created your 2nd team, this option is not available to you.

UPDATE FROM SKY: The second chance league would only apply if no team is entered initially. Apologies for any confusion caused.

So we can’t enter this league after all!

What will I do?

I don’t think I have the headspace to run 2 teams, so that rules out a few options. I’m leaning towards playing the same team, but splitting some tough captaincy decisions and maybe splitting strategy late in the season. That said, I still may be tempted by the 2nd chance league.
