Nine Must-Adds From Your Week 6 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire

Week 5 on the 2021 NFL schedule is nearly in the books. Week 6 brings the start of bye weeks, with the two teams who played in London on Sunday (Atlanta Falcons, New York Jets) joined by the New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers with the week off.

Here are nine early-must adds from your Week 6 fantasy football waiver wire.

Justin Fields, QB, Chicago Bears

Fields took a backseat to the Bears’ defense and running backs Damien Williams and Khalil Herbert (34 total carries) Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders, with a brief injury scare. But he threw a touchdown pass without an interception, and the matchups look quite good coming up.

Each of Chicago’s next four opponents (Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Bucccaneers, San Francisco 49ers and Pittsburgh Steelers) entered Week 5 in the bottom half of the league against quarterbacks (Yahoo! scoring), and all four look sure to remain there heading toward Week 6.

Fields hasn’t put up big fantasy production yet, but let’s hope that changes soon (with a nod to offensive coordinator Bill Lazor opening up the playbook, with or without Matt Nagy’s blessing).

Fields’ ownership rates have dropped into more widely addable territory. There are worse ways to go for a QB2 with QB1 potential in 12-team leagues
