Field of Streams – Week 13

Streaming options to help you dominate your week

For those of you new to fantasy football, or if you are just looking for a new strategy, “Streaming” is the idea of selecting somebody from the Free Agent pool or waiver wire based on favorable matchups. This strategy is particularly effective if you failed to draft an elite player at QB, TE, or DEF.

The NFL changes quite a bit from week to week and year to year, I will try to help alleviate your concerns and focus on players that I would try and stream. Much like last year, with the potential for added roster spots (thanks, COVID) this year will be difficult to Stream. Most leagues have expanded rosters, so this year, I will be looking at only players who are available in AT/UNDER 50% of Yahoo leagues. All options may not be available in your specific league.

A decent week last week, even with all the injuries and just strange outcomes. Mac Jones finished with 26.5 fantasy points which was good enough for the QB7 overall, and the Bengals DST racked up 19 fantasy points against the Steelers to finish as the 2nd best Defense on the week. Evan Engram was the best TE we had, with 5.2pts. That was the TE20 overall, but if he fell into the end zone, he would have vaulted into the top-12. Check out who can help make your final playoff push for this week!

Quarterback

Tua vs NYG, 33%Rostered

This game could go either way. Both defenses are below average, but the same can be said for the opposing offenses. Tua has locked onto J. Waddle, so hopefully, they can both have a solid game against a sub-par Giants DST.

Tyrod Taylor vs IND, 11% Rostered

He’s had a rushing touchdown in 2 of his last 3, and that’s where most of his value lies. The matchup against the Colts secondary is a pretty good one, but I expect him to show his mobility yet again.

Taylor Heinicke @ LV, 26% Rostered

He didn’t perform as well as you would have liked on primetime TV, but he’s been solid all year. And now he gets a matchup with the Raiders, the 10th best matchup for opposing QB’s.

Tight End

Jared Cook @ CIN, 48% Rostered

He’s seen 5 targets in each of the last 2 games but only hauled in 5 catches and 1 touchdown. If the volume continues to be there, I expect the efficiency will come back to life.

Tyler Conklin @ DET, 33% Rostered

His targets have dropped a bit the past 2 games, but with Dalvin Cook slated to miss some time, they could rely more on Kirk Cousins and this passing attack.

Gerald Everett vs SF, 27% Rostered

Coming off a 9 target, 1 TD game, this feels a bit like chasing points, but Everett’s one of the more athletic tight ends in the league. If he can get free for 1 big play, he pays off as a streamer.

Defense/Special Teams

Miami Dolphins vs NYG, 44% Rostered

The past few weeks, the Dolphins DST looked like the unit we all thought they could be coming into the season. 70 Fantasy Points in their last 4 games, made up of 16 sacks, and 10 turnovers. Daniel Jones isn’t very careful with the ball, so all of these numbers could increase.

Kansas City Chiefs vs DEN, 27% Rostered

The Chiefs haven’t been as terrible lately as they were in previous weeks. Even with Teddy Bridgewater at QB, the Broncos’ offense is a top-10 matchup for opposing defenses.

Minnesota Vikings @ DET, 18% Rostered

Detroit is likely going to be without D. Swift, forcing the ball into Goff’s hands a bit more. This is a good thing for the opposing DST.

Stay tuned next week to see the results from all the players mentioned above, as well as my streamers for next week. Follow me on Twitter for more updates and insight @jjgosh
