It seems that Bethesda is continuing its tradition of re-releasing Skyrim and this time, it is slated to release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X. Since its initial release in 2011, Skyrim has been ported to numerous devices including VR for PSVR and PC.
During QuakeCon 2021, Bethesda announced “the most definitive version of Skyrim:” The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition. Owners of Skyrim Special Edition (which includes all three DLCS: Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn along with graphical improvements) will receive a free update that introduces a Fishing mechanic, a new survival focused game mode as well as new quests, all of which are a part of Bethesda’s Creation Club.
All existing owners of Skyrim Special Edition will have the option to upgrade to the Anniversary Edition which includes extra Creation Club content. According to Bethesda, the Anniversary Edition includes “74 creations, all 48 currently available and 26 to be released. These showcase over 500+ individual elements such as quests, items, armor, houses, etc.”
