The LCS will host its first fan-attended event since Summer of 2019 in Newark, NJ at the Prudential Center. The LCS Championship Delivered by GrubHub will take place on August 28 and 29 and will crown the region’s 2021 season champion.
At the event, the LCS will provide a fan experience featuring LCS teams and partners.
Save for a limited live audience at the 2020 World Championship, Riot Games has not hosted an esports event with fans in attendance since 2019. This will also be the first-ever “LCS Championship” as previous years were divided into two seasons each with a corresponding playoff. This year, the LCS combined its splits into a single year-long season, which will crown a single champion at the Prudential Center.
The Prudential Center is also directly adjacent to the East Coast home of LCS team Dignitas. The venue previously hosted the Rocket League Championship Series finals in 2019.
Riot will comply with all local and national guidelines for COVID safety protocols and will provide additional details to this effect closer to the event. In its announcement, Riot strongly encouraged attendees to get their vaccination prior to the event.
