The league phase of the 2022 Premier League Darts comes to a conclusion at Newcastle’s Utilita Arena on Thursday and there is a huge winner-take-all clash between Peter Wright and Joe Cullen (8/1 – Premier League Outright) to look forward to.
Jonny Clayton, Michael van Gerwen and James Wade have already secured their place in the play-offs, which take place at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, Berlin on June 13, and the trio await to see who will be the fourth and final player heading to Germany.
Cullen currently holds fourth position in the standings on 22 points, only ahead of fifth-place Wright on leg difference, but the winner of their quarter-final clash on Thursday evening on Tyneside will decide who reaches the play-offs.
The Englishman won Night 15 at the O2 last week, beating Clayton 6-4 in the final, but perhaps the more significant result in London was his 6-1 thrashing of Wright in the semi-final.
That was Cullen’s second victory against the Scot during this year’s Premier League, as he also triumphed 6-4 on Night 7, although Wright has also chalked up two victories against the ‘RockStar’ on Night 6 and 11.
Cullen is 11/10 to claim the crucial win on Thursday, while Wright is 8/11 to come out on top.

Elsewhere, Clayton, who is guaranteed top spot, takes on Gary Anderson (Clayton 3/10, Anderson 5/2 – Match Result) while Van Gerwen – who is assured of second – faces Michael Smith.
The night’s first-round action is rounded off with Wade’s meeting with Price and although ‘The Machine’ is guaranteed a play-off place, he needs to reach the final in Newcastle to claim a third-placed finish, otherwise the winner of Wright vs Cullen could leapfrog him in the table depending on how their night progresses.
