Welshman Gerwyn Price (4/1 – Premier League Outright) plans to compete in Thursday’s Premier League Darts in Birmingham despite confirming he has fractured a bone in his throwing hand.
The world number two suffered the injury in March after the UK Open and he was forced to miss the Premier League night in Brighton as a result.
Even though he has been advised to take a break, Price reached the semi-finals in Nottingham two weeks ago before he won the Players Championship in Germany last weekend.
He is due to wear a supportive splint on Thursday as he faces Joe Cullen at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham.
Speaking about his injury, Price said: “I was still in discomfort with my hand, so I went back to the hospital, and the X-ray showed a small fracture.
“The usual course of action would be to be put in plaster for four weeks, but with the Premier League and other events, that’s not something I wanted.

“I’ll be wearing the splint now other than when I’m playing darts and making sure that I rest the hand enough when I’m not to allow it to heal properly.
“I’ve shown that I can still play good darts despite the injury, and I’ll be trying my hardest to get the win in Birmingham on Thursday.”
Cullen is just one point ahead of Price in the standings and the Bradford-born ace will be doing all he can to win his second night of the season.
Dutchman Michael van Gerwen will face James Wade in the opening contest, while Peter Wright and Gary Anderson will square off (Wright 1/2, Anderson 8/5 – Match Betting).
Jonny Clayton faces Michael Smith (Clayton 8/11, Smith 11/10 – Match Betting) in the final match of four, in what is expected to be another thrilling night of darts.
