The Tour Daily Podcast: The Hautacam

Every July, the CyclingTips Podcast goes daily and comes straight to your ears from the ground in France (or Denmark, as it were.)

Welcome to your hub for the Tour Daily during the 2022 Tour de France. We’ll have a Tour Daily episode every stage through both the Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift. You can play each episode from this page or subscribe on iTunes, Spotify,  Google, or wherever you get your podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.

The second of three Pyrénéen stages, a string of attacks, and a dinner in Tarbes.

Stage 16: Into the Pyrenees

Pogačar can’t escape, Vingegaard won’t be dropped, and we have two huge days in the Pyrenees to come.

Rest day two: Under the bridge

The air is hot, the racing is excellent, and Jonny, Iain, and Caley come to you from underneath a bridge in Carcassonne.

Stage 15: Jumbo fell down

A hot, hard stage to Carcassonne with some yelling, a Bernie cameo, and a worthy winner.

A crazy start, a GC tactic that takes us back decades, and winning on desire. Jonny, Caley, and Iain discuss the day and bring in Peter Cossins for historical perspective.

Stage 13: Slushies in Saint-Étienne

A breakaway, heat, and Fred Wright’s near miss.

Stage 7: The Super Planche

In today’s episode, Jonny checks in from a motorbike in the middle of the Tour de France then the crew sit down to discuss the first mountaintop finish. Is Jumbo as put together as we thought they were? Is Ineos the best hope to try something wild to unseat Pogačar?

Stage 6: Your man at the Tour

It was a day where Wout van Aert and Tadej Pogacar took turns dominating the entire Tour de France field. Ronan, Jonny, and Caley talk though the stage, plus Alberto Bettiol, La Planche, and your man with the near miss.

Stage 5: Jumbo messed that one up

It was a wild day on the cobbles of northern France. Jonny, Ronan, and Caley break down Pogačar’s dominance, Jumbo-Visma’s strange response to a relatively normal issue, and delve into why Nairo Quintana is so good on cobblestones.

Stage 4: Will Wout Wait?

Wout van Aert decided the best way to end his run of second places was to sprint against himself on Tuesday. Jonny and Ronan are joined by Caley, fresh off the plane, to talk through a thrilling finale and look ahead to Wednesday’s cobble stage.

Another sprint, another winner. The crew sit down after the final Danish stage to talk through a fast but impressively safe opener to the Tour de France.
