Hunt is selling limited edition Tour-ridden Qhubeka wheelsets

Hunt has built 10 limited edition Qhubeka wheelsets, that will be ridden by riders of Team Qhubeka-NextHash on the final stage of the Tour de France into Paris, with nine going on sale and one to be won in a competition.

To celebrate the Tour finshing on Mandela Day, the proceeds from the sale of the specially made versions of Hunt’s 54 Aerodynamicist Carbon Disc wheelset, featuring Qhubeka’s logo on the rims, will go to the Qhubeka Foundation to provide bicycles to people in South Africa.

The sets, which boast Hunt’s wind-tunnel tested and scientifically refined Aerodynamicist rim profiles with a 29mm external width ideal for 25-28c tyres, cost £1,089 and are clincher and tubeless compatible with a choice of Shimano, Sram and Campagnolo freehubs. Hunt says they weigh in at 1,524g.

If you unsurprisingly can’t get your hands on one of the nine, there is a chance to win the final pair of wheels by entering a competition on Hunt’s website, which closes on 25th July at 17:30.

Qhubeka founder Anthony Fitzhenry said, ‘We are very pleased that Hunt Wheels have decided to activate the #QHandUp campaign of Team Qhubeka-NextHash with these very special wheelsets at the Tour de France. Their partnership with the team is based on shared values and this collaboration is evidence of that.’

Tom Marchment, Hunt co-founder, gave his own thoughts: ‘Hunt was drawn to Team Qhubeka-NextHash not only for their incredible level of performance and professionalism, but also the work they do in supporting the Qhubeka charity’s mission to change lives through bicycles.

‘This project was a small way for Hunt to help further that mission by directly supporting and promoting the Qhubeka charity, while offering riders the very unique opportunity to own wheels used by pros in the 2021 Tour de France.’
