Matthew Walls has won the final stage of the Tour of Norway after the BORA-hansgrohe rider was the fastest on the streets of Stavanger in a sprint from a reduced peloton.
Ethan Hayter sealed the overall victory of his young career after he led from start to finish the 2021 Tour of Norway, while his housemate Matt Walls won the final stage to take his first-ever professional win on the road.
“This is my first GC win and it definitely wasn’t an easy one,” Hayter said after successfully defending his lead for three stages.
“The first two days I got an advantage and then defending it on stage 3 was the hardest day of all of them. It’s not been an easy race. I really enjoyed this race. The weather has been amazing, the views have been amazing and the race has been great.”
