Another young Indian fast bowler steps into the limelight. And he looks good does Kuldeep Sen

RR win a topsy-turvy game
Gosh! What a match we have just seen????? At 102 for 7, LSG seemed to be down and out. But Stoinis stepped in and smacked a 17-ball 38 to give his side hope of scripting a jailbreak. In the last over, LSG needed 15 off 6. However, Stoinis ended up missing a couple of hittable deliveries.
Eventually, he did get a boundary via an edge and then crunched a six off the last ball. But it was too late by then.
Also what a moment for MP’s Kuldeep Sen. Bowling the final over to a hard-hitting all-rounder and winning the game for his side.
RR also would be pleased by the fact that they won the match despite the presence of dew.
Can LSG script a heist?
Is there hope left for LSG? Stoinis smacked a six off Chahal and then proceeded to leave all three stumps against Prasidh and got enough bat to collect a boundary.
Chameera and Avesh cracked a couple of sixes too. This is getting too close for comfort for RR. 27 off 10!
RR on top
Krunal and De Kock seemed to be giving LSG a glimmer of hope. But Chahal shut the door on the opponent by dismissing QdK for a 32-ball 39. LSG need to score at 14.5 runs an over in the last 4 and a half overs.
Another Indian speedster making an impact
Another Indian speedster making an impact at the big stage. This time it is Kuldeep Sen. He is bowling 90mph and also nailing a yorker or two. Eventually, he rattled Hooda’s stumps with a full and straight one.
Kuldeep then points to the Royals badge on his t-shirt in his celebration. He does come close to the stumps too based on what I have seen of him in domestic and today’s game. And his short ball does follow the batter all the way through.
Another one bites the dust
LSG have tinkered with heir batting line-up but that’s not working today. Jason Holder tries to loft a delivery dug in short and into his body but tamely holes out to mid on.
@Fancricket12
I wish the day belong to all Kuldeep
We saw one earlier it’s time for the other one to shine
He is bowling ⚡ though

Rockets from Boult
Trent Boult is bowling rockets. He bowled a crackerjacker of an inswinging yorker from round the wicket to rattle Rahul’s stumps. He then dismissed the pinch-hitter Gowtham with the inswinger from over the wicket.
Swing and left-arm angle – Gold dust.
Of course.
He will be marked retired out. He will be ‘out’. https://t.co/lhkqIkE68O

Retired out!
Ashwin has retired out and that is something new in the IPL. You would perhaps see a lot of it in the future. You can send in your views on the move via the above mentioned twitter handle.
Meanwhile, Hetmyer showcased his pyrotechnics by tonking one over deep midwicket and also thumping the bowler over third man. He then dispatched Holder over midwicket too. Still head, stable ankles, mobility in hips – the power is then transferred on to the hands.
RR end up with 165 on the board. A good recovery.
Ashwin provides impetus
It could have been worse for RR but Krunal fluffed a sitter at long-on, with Gowtham turning out to be the unlucky bowler. Hetmyer with the reprieve.
R Ashwin then gave a glimpse of his hitting prowess by clubbing Gowtham into the downtown territories. He also showcased some batting smarts by anticipating the shorter length – next ball – to pull one over deep midwicket.
RR need more of those.
RR slide
Samson would be a disappointed man today. He missed out on a full toss from Holder and was rapped on the pads and was adjudged LBW. Soft dismissal.
Padikkal, who was getting frustrated, then attempted the reverse sweep versus Gowtham but could only glove it to Holder. Gowtham continued to showcase his skills by castling Van der Dussen with an off-break that turned.
On a side note, the tracks at the Wankhede continue to be different this season. Tacky decks.
Avesh with the vital scalp
Padikkal also picked up the pace with a couple of shots off Bishnoi. However, just when the pair looked set to take the side to a position of strength, Avesh bowled a fine delivery that was pitched on a full length and moved just enough to shatter Buttler’s timber. Huge wicket.
Also with Buttler hanging back, that is a near-perfect ball against him.
Solid start
Buttler is once again in top form as he thwacked Holder over his head for a six and then showed some finesse by glancing the next ball into the boundary hoardings. On the other hand, Padikkal was given out LBW off Chameera but he placed his belief in the review and replays suggested an inside edge.
Even though Padikkal didn’t seem to feel he had edged it when he decided to go for the review.
Despite a hint of movement, pitches in Mumbai should ideally suit DDP’s economy of movement.

Toss and teams:
LSG have won the crucial toss and opted to bowl.
Rajasthan Royals (Playing XI): Jos Buttler, Rassie van der Dussen, Devdutt Padikkal, Sanju Samson(w/c), Shimron Hetmyer, Riyan Parag, Kuldeep Sen, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Yuzvendra Chahal
Lucknow Super Giants (Playing XI): KL Rahul(c), Quinton de Kock(w), Marcus Stoinis, Deepak Hooda, Ayush Badoni, Krunal Pandya, Jason Holder, Krishnappa Gowtham, Dushmantha Chameera, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan
Sanju Samson: We did the same thing last time (batting first), so just need to put runs on the board and defend it later. Nothing can be done about the toss, our team is well-balanced to deal with that factor. We have two changes – Kuldeep Sen in for Navdeep Saini, Rassie van der Dussen in for Yashasvi Jaiswal
KL Rahul: We’re gonna look to bowl first. Even last game, I didn’t have any other reason. Just that we want to know what to chase and maybe, dew might come on later. Every game starts fresh and I’ve not had a great game here. It always balances out. Just want to come out and do the job for the team. We’re chasing, so we’ll know what to do and I can pace my innings accordingly. We have a great team and that makes the team of a captain easy. When you have experienced players and about 9/10 of the players in the first XI are international players, it makes the captain’s role easier. I’m enjoying the captaincy. Two changes – Lewis and Tye miss out, Stoinis and Chameera come in.
Prelude:
LSG began IPL 2022 with a hiccup by losing to GT. Since then they have been on a roll, winning three on the bounce. One of the key features of their wins has been the performance by the spinners. Against DC, LSG took 3-57 in ten overs between the trio of Bishnoi, K Gowtham and Pandya, while against GT, their spinners returned 2-43 in nine overs until the 15th over of the chase.
LSG’s trump card this season has been Badoni who has made an impact in the slog overs and provided the finishing touches. On the other, Jos Buttler has been in prime form for RR, and he is currently the holder of Orange Cap. Shimron Hetmyer has also been in good touch. On the flip side, they lost their last game to RCB.
