Claremont-Nedlands in finals after Premier Cricket win over rivals

CLAREMONT-Nedlands Cricket Club is through to elimination finals after defeating local rivals Subiaco-Nedlands in round 15 of Premier Cricket on Saturday.

Subiaco-Floreat batted and scored 8-208, including 72 runs from Hamish McKenzie and Christopher Hansberry’s 48 at Floreat Park Oval.

Claremont-Nedlands bowler Cameron Steel was the best of the attack with 3-10.

His side replied with 3-213 that included a not out innings of 87 from Nicolas Hobson and 72 by Bradley Hope.

Subiaco-Nedlands bowler Michael Hart was the best of his side with 1-23.

University had reached 1-12 against Bayswater-Morley before the umpire decided the pitch was unsuitable for play and the game abandoned at James Oval at the University of WA.

With weekly rounds now completed, the league’s top six teams will play elimination finals next weekend.

Claremont-Nedlands is up against Fremantle, Rockingham-Mandurah will play Willetton and Perth faces Wanneroo.
