Big win sees Rewa qualify for Champions League

The boys in red beat Lautoka over two legs to qualify for the OFC Champions League final stage, set in Auckland later this year.

In the first leg it earlier this week it ended 1-1 and that made for an interesting second leg.

But despite the first leg being a tightly contested affair, the second leg was a blowout.

A brace from Rusiate Matarerega and goals from Alick Worworbu and Samuela Nabenia secured a 4-0 win for Rewa, and a 5-1 win on aggregate.

Rewa will now join New Zealand’s Auckland City, the Cook Islands’ Nikao Sokattak, New Caledonia’s Hienghène Sport and Tahiti’s AS Vénus at the OCL Final Stage later this year.

In the two other two-legged national playoffs RueRue and Galaxy from Vanuatu are 0-0 after the first leg, while Solomon Warriors and Central Coast from the Solomon Islands are 1-1 with one game to go.
