A Culture Health Check “walk the floor” will take place with GB Badminton’s Olympic and Paralympic programmes.
The Culture Health Check, which will be undertaken by an independent panel, is a key component of investment into all Olympic and Paralympic sports over a cycle, and following some concerns raised prior to the Tokyo Games, GB Badminton and Badminton England requested that this be brought forward.
It will include meetings with GB players, coaches, support staff and programme management based at the National Badminton Centre, Milton Keynes, the National Badminton Centre, Glasgow and the Para Badminton team based at the EIS, Sheffield. The opportunity to take part will also be extended to include England programme players based in Milton Keynes.
This will be undertaken during September 2021 and will provide specific feedback on and recommendations to ensure a sustainable culture of success in the GB Badminton World Class Programme and Paralympic Programme in the Paris cycle, and beyond.
Badminton England to launch consultation
Separately, with continued ambitions to identify, nurture and transition talented players into the GB World Class Programme and Paralympic Programme, Badminton England will undertake an extensive consultation with the wider badminton community, to understand how we better support the development of players and coaches, with the aim of contributing to future World, Olympic and Paralympic success.
Details of the consultation, including the timelines, will be published before the end of the year.
