Badminton England are delighted to announce that entry is now open for the 2021 UK Para-Badminton Championships.
The second staging of the event, founded in 2019, will aim to build on the team’s success at Tokyo 2020 earlier this year – where ParalympicsGB took home two medals.
The aim is that every single player competing will be full of pride to take part in this fantastic event.
The Championships will take place on the weekend of 11-12 December at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.
It will bring together the best players from across all four UK nations, with six different para-badminton classes represented; WH1, WH2, SL3, SL4, SU5 and SH6.
Entry for the event must be made through Badminton England’s web portal, with a link at the foot of this page.
GB para-badminton head coach Richard Morris is delighted the championships are back and that entry is now open.
He said: “After the huge success of the inaugural event in 2019, we’re back and looking forward to crowning new UK Para badminton Champions in Sheffield this December!
“The last few months has built upon a terrific Paralympics for Paralympics GB and a strengthened GB Training Group, as well as exciting numbers from the Big Hit weekends.
“The UK Championships will be bigger and better than ever. It should be a fantastic way to close out the badminton year.”
The first round in each classification will be a group stage format, provided entry numbers allow so. Entry for this tournament closes on 12 noon, Monday 8 November.
