Sean Vendy and Ben Lane were victims of a stunning first-game comeback as they exited the Indonesia Open at the round of 32 stage.
Trailing 19-14, the Indonesian pair of Pramudya Kusumawardana and Yeremia Rambitan produced seven unanswered points to sneak the first set 21-19, denying Vendy and Lane a vital lead.
The second game saw the home pair taking it 21-15 to advance to the round of 16.
Mixed doubles pair Lauren Smith and Marcus Ellis also fell at the first hurdle in Jakarta.
They were beaten 21-15, 21-16 in a tense encounter with Malaysia’s Peng Soon Chan and Yee See Cheah.
All four will be looking to bounce back at the Malaysia Open in Kuala Lumpur in two weeks’ time, as the tour passes the half-way stage.
