Current COVIDSafe Restrictions – 06/07/21

As we once again return to competition following a lockdown, COVIDsafe restrictions are still in place for community sport. During this period we would appreciate your understanding that XCR may be run under different conditions to allow participation to go ahead while restrictions are eased.

We ask that participants, officials, club helpers and clubs understand the current restrictions in place, which can be viewed below, with further detailed information available via the Victorian Government links.

Please remember that Event Organisers must provide a COVIDsafe Plan, in advance of training and competition, to Athletics Victoria via emailing sportdelivery@athsvic.org.au.

Metropolitan Victoria

From 11:59pm on Thursday 24 June 2021, if you live in metropolitan Melbourne:

  • Community sport can continue for all ages, both training and competition.
  • Spectators are allowed but venue and density limits must be followed.
  • You must check in at all recreation venues using the Victorian Government QR Code Service through the Service Victoria app, regardless of the duration of your visit.
  • – Indoor physical recreation can continue, with class sizes of up to 50 per class (not including trainers).
  • – A limit of 300 people per indoor space and 1,000 people per outdoor space applies. A density requirement of 1 person per 4sqm applies for non-seated spaces. Seated spaces may be filled to 75% capacity. Group sizes limited to 50 participants (not including trainers).
  • Equipment must be cleaned between uses.
  • – You must wear a face mask when indoors, unless an exception applies – you do not need to wear a mask while exercising strenuously.
  • Face masks are recommended outdoors where physical distancing of 1.5 metres cannot be maintained. 
  • – Indoor swimming pools, spas, saunas and steam rooms can open with up to 300 people per indoor space and 1,000 people per outdoor space and a density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm. Maximum group of 50 applies.
  • – Play centres, indoor skateparks, trampolining centres are open for up to 300 people per space. Maximum group size of 50 people applies indoors.

Regional Victoria

From 11:59pm on Thursday 24 June 2021, if you live in regional Victoria

  • Outdoor community sport can continue, and is capped at 1,000 people per outdoor space.
  • Indoor community sport is capped at 300 people per indoor space.
  • – The 1 person per 2 sqm rule applies to non-seated spaces when using a COVID Check-In Marshal, otherwise a density quotient of 1 person per 4 sqm applies.
  • Indoor recreation facilities – such as gyms, trampoline centres, indoor skateparks, spas, saunas, steam rooms and springs – are open subject to the 1 person per 2 sqm rule for non-seated spaces when using a COVID Check-In Marshal, otherwise a density quotient of 1 person per 4 sqm applies. Facilities can have 300 patrons per indoor space, and 1,000 patrons per outdoor space (excluding staff). A maximum group size of 50 people applies. Seated spaces may be filled to 75% capacity.
  • Equipment must be cleaned between uses.
  • You must check in at all recreation venues using the Victorian Government QR Code Service through the Service Victoria app

Please remember that Event Organisers must provide a COVIDsafe Plan, in advance of training and competition, to Athletics Victoria via emailing sportdelivery@athsvic.org.au.

These plans must include track and trace processes and mandatory COVIDsafe practices outlined by the Victorian Government. Organisers must also seek approval from the local council if the venue/facility is council-owned/managed.
