The Central Connecticut men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams will compete for the 2022 Northeast Conference title on Sunday and Monday, Feb. 20 and 21 at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island, NY. The track events begin on Sunday with the men’s 60 meter hurdles preliminary round at 9:00 a.m, while the field events begin with the men’s weight throw at 9:15 a.m. Competition will conclude with the women’s 4×400 relay at 2:05 p.m. on Monday.
The 10-team championship is being held for the first time since 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. NEC Front Row will broadcast all final events live on NECFrontRow.com. The field event highlights will be posted on NEC Front Row On-Demand.

The men’s squad finished fourth in the team standings at the 2020 championships and will be looking to win the indoor crown for the first time since 2018. The women’s squad finished sixth in the team standings in 2020 and will be in search of the program’s second team championship.
Following the championship, Central competes at the BU Last Chance Meet on Sunday, February 27 in Boston, MA.
COVID-19 Policy
Spectators must show proof of 1 dose of J&J or 2 doses of Moderna/Pfizer to enter the competition venue or competition area. In addition, fans are strongly recommended to be boosted as a health and safety precaution for our participating student-athletes. All spectators must be masked at all times.
Admission
Ticket prices are $15 per day for adults, $5 per day for individuals 65 and older or under 18, and $20 for a two-day pass. Children 10 years of age and under will be admitted free. All NEC students with proper institutional I.D. will be admitted free.
Doors will open for spectators at 8:00 am.
