Another fitting tribute for Maurice – BMAF

I have just read about the passing of Maurice Doogan and just wanted to say what a true gentleman he was. I am assistant head of Royal Air Force Track and Field and it was through Maurice that we were able to use the BMAF combined events for our own combined event competitions. His passion for athletics was considerable and has allowed me the ability to afford over 40 RAF athletes over a 5 year period a taste of combined events, pushing their athletic boundaries in a safe and inspiring environment. In a time where Armed Forces athletes are on the decline and the ability to deliver a combined event for just a few athletes was unpracticable, he kindly intervened and whole heartedly encouraged our participation. He made a huge difference and I am saddened to read of his passing as will be all those athletes who had been afforded the chance to compete through his generosity.

Kind Regards,

Loz
