44-year-old Ivan Tikhon returned to the competitions

Belarusian hammer throwing legend Ivan Tikhon has returned to the competitions in good shape.

Ivan Tikhon, 44, threw his hammer to 76.17 in his home country on Tuesday. Tikhon was last seen in competitions in 2019, when he competed only once and threw a result of 75.32.

The Belarusian record is an impressive 84.51 from 2008.

Tikhon has served two doping violations during his career. He has won two world championship titles in 2003 and 2007. In Rio Olympics 2016, he reached bronze.

Entry standard for Tokyo Olympics 2021 is 77.50.
