Danny Noppert (4/1 – Dutch Darts Masters Outright) produced a stellar performance to knock out fellow Dutchman Michael van Gerwen (pictured) in the first round of the Dutch Darts Masters on Friday evening and set up a quarter-final clash with another compatriot of his, Vincent van der Voort, on Saturday.
Third seed Van Gerwen, who was making his first appearance since undergoing wrist surgery last week, averaged 96.78 on the night but he was unable to secure his place in the last eight at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam.
It was Noppert who managed to advance with a thrilling 6-4 victory and he will now take on fellow Dutchman Van der Voort following his narrow 6-5 triumph over Welshman Gerwyn Price.
‘The Freeze’ is up last on Saturday evening and he is 2/5 to secure his spot in the semi-final, while the ‘Dutch Destroyer’ is 19/10 to take down another big scalp on home soil.

Englishman James Wade is also through to the last-eight stage after a 6-2 triumph over Jeffrey de Zwaan and he will now face Maik Kuivenhoven, who thumped Fallon Sherrock 6-1 in round one.
