Toss Netherlands chose to bowl first vs England
Netherlands won the toss and sent England in to bat in the first of their three ODIs in Amstelveen.
A late team change sees the return of Tom Cooper to the Netherlands middle-order, having played his previous ODI back in 2013. He replaces Teja Nidamanuru following the last-minute submission of his paperwork. For England, David Willey plays ahead of Brydon Carse to complete a three-man left-arm seam attack, alongside Reece Topley and Sam Curran.
“It looks a nice wicket and what we’ve seen from the West Indies series is it’s a good ground to chase on,” he said.
“The wicket looks good and the weather’s set fair so we don’t expect to see [conditions] changing much,” he said. “It’s great to have clarity in the direction we’re going, Motty’s a guy who’s been fantastic around the group and he comes with a great reputation.”
Play was set to begin in warm and fine conditions.
