Defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets coach Kalisto Pasuwa has said the Blantyre side is ready for the 2022 TNM Super League season.
The Zimbabwean coach spoke about his team’s preparedness ahead of the opening game against rivals Mighty Wanderers at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on Saturday.
“We are in pre-season and we were using these games to prepare for the new season and with what I have seen, I am very excited and I can confidently say I have 28 players who are fit and ready for the new season,” Pasuwa told Bullets website.
He said the pre-season NBS Charity Shield and Pamtsetse Bonanza had helped him to try playing combinations especially among new recruits and those promoted from the reserve side.
“And these games have been very important to us because [we have seen that] our team lacks aggressiveness in the central link and this is something which we can work on as we play our league matches,” Pasuwa said.
Bullets beat Silver Strikers 1-0 to win the NBS Charity Shield two weeks ago at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre before finishing on third place in Pamtsetse Bonanza in Lilongwe.
Bullets lost 0-1 to Silver then won 2-0 against Civil Sporting in a third-place play-off at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe over the weekend.
The Zimbabwean has welcomed back captain John Lanjesi and left-back Precious Sambani from long-term injuries.
He is chasing a fourth consecutive league title with Bullets and overall, record extending 16 with the Blantyre giants.
