MONTREAL – Forward Romell Quioto has been selected Friday afternoon by the Honduras national team for three upcoming Concacaf qualifying matches for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Honduras will first host Canada on January 27 at 8:05pm at the Estadio Olímpico Metropolitano, followed by El Salvador on January 30 at 7:05pm, before facing the United States on February 2 at 7:30pm at Allianz Field, in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Quioto was called up to the national team during the last FIFA international window in November 2021. He logged a full 90 minutes for his country in a 2-1 loss to Costa Rica. Honduras sits eighth in the octagonal with a 0-5-3 record.
Quioto made his debut with the senior Honduras national team on March 1, 2012. He now has 53 caps, having scored 12 goals for his country.
