An insight into Crystal Palace’s pursuit of Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah has been provided on Tuesday.
Nketiah’s Arsenal stint
Eddie Nketiah would join Arsenal’s youth ranks back in 2015, signing from London rivals, Chelsea.
Since then, Nketiah has had a mixed stint in north London and was loaned out to Leeds during the 2019/20 campaign.
Nketiah returned in January of 2020 and was playing fairly well under then-new boss Mikel Arteta. However, the 22-year-old has never really progressed and has since largely fallen out of favour.
Nketiah has not featured much for Arsenal this season, but he has shone in the League Cup for the Gunners, netting five in three outings.
Nketiah has also excelled for England’s under-21 side, finding the net on a record 16 occasions in 17 outings for the Young Lions.
Record breaker. History maker. Eddie Nketiah.

So, whilst his minutes are limited in the Premier League for Arsenal, Nketiah has shown he has a keen eye for goal, he just needs to play on a more regular basis.
Crystal Palace want Nketiah
So, with the hitman’s deal up in six months, there is bound to be some interest in him.
Nketiah was linked with Crystal Palace over the summer and those links have returned once again of late.
Now, though, as mentioned above, a fresh update on the situation has emerged via the Daily Mail’s Sami Mokbel.
Mokbel reports that Palace are trying to sign Nketiah, but wages are proving to be an issue.
It is added that Nketiah has free-agent interest from Germany and France (he can sign pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs now he is in the final six months of his deal), so it may be tough for an English club to compete in January:
Bit of Palace transfer news: Trying to sign Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah but wages proving an issue at the moment. Nketiah has Bosman interest from Germany and France where he can earn vast amounts so (at least financially) might be tough for an English club to compete this month.
