The players, who were made up of four midfielders, four attackers, a striker, two defenders, and a goalkeeper included Tiza Samuel, Amaefule Chizoba, Michael Bolaji, Nwokeji Chiemeka, Tanko Mark, and Udeagha Chinedu.
Others were Abubakar Idris, Muritala Lateef, Adebambo Ademola, Junior Lokosa, Samad Kadri and Joel Isyaq.
Technical Adviser of the club, Coach Abdullahi Biffo, said the team will have no room for excuses not to perform in the forthcoming season especially with the retention of 90 per cent of the players that played in the previous season.
Biffo expressed satisfaction with the quality of additional players to the existing squad as they recruited good and committed players based on the need of the club.
“We will strive to leverage on all these and most importantly the support of government and everyone in the state to achieve our targets this coming season as we plan to build on the achievements we had last season,” he said.
Speaking on the first match of the season against Dakkaka FC, Biffo said that it would be a tricky and crucial encounter considering the fact that Dakkada is a good and consistent side, it is not an underdog.
Chairman of Kwara State Sports Commission, Bola Mogaji, said the government appreciated the performance of the club in the just concluded football season and called for improvement in the forthcoming season.
Mogaji who was represented by Mallam Shola Shehu said, “[The] Kwara State Government is fully committed to the cause of the club and will always be ready to do whatever would be needed to assist the club, especially in the new season hoping that the team will reciprocate the gesture with good results.”
