The 2021 Loyalsock girls golf team ended the fall campaign as the most decorated in the history of the program. The seniors combined to win four consecutive District 4 team titles, two District 4 individual titles (Mia Patterson in 2018 and 2019), one trip to the PIAA Eastern Regional in Fleetwood in 2019 for Mia Patterson, two trips to the PIAA Individual Tournament at Heritage Hills in York for Grace Shaible (2020 and 2021) and two consecutive trips to the PIAA team sub-regional with District 2 in 2020 and 2021.

Loyalsock also won a sub-regional team title in 2021, qualifying to participate in the PIAA Team Tournament at Heritage Hills where they placed fourth in the state.

The team this season was made up of seniors Allyia Kennedy, Mia Patterson and Grace Shaible and was coached by Jeff Whiteman and assistants Rob Lytle and Bree Free.

At the state tournament this year, the Lancers took fourth with a score of 267. Individually, Kennedy led the team with an 85, Patterson had an 88 and Shaible shot a 94.

“This team is a testament to what can be achieved with desire and unlimited hard work,” Whiteman said. “Both Kennedy and Shaible had never touched a club prior to the 2018 season and were shooting scores near 140. Shaible had a scoring average of 84 her senior year and Kennedy posted the team low score of 85 at the PIAA Team Tournament in York.”

Whiteman also stated that “this team has been an absolute joy to coach over the last four years and it is my opinion that with their dedication and work ethic the sky is the limit as they move forward in life.”
