Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea are ‘all in pole position’ for £38m Monaco star

Man United are among trio of Premier League clubs ‘in pole position’ for a £38million Monaco star…

THREE ON POLE
Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United are set to do battle over Aurelien Tchouameni.

The 21-year-old is ‘gearing up to depart’ Monaco this summer, according to Eurosport, and all three Premier League giants are interested.

Tchouameni has forced his way into Didier Deschamps’ France squad and Paul Pogba is among his cheerleaders.

“Very, very good. He’s not a boy, he’s a man,” Pogba said of Tchouameni. “It’s a pleasure to play next to him. He brings a lot of energy. A lot of energy, extraordinary technical and physical quality.”

He could reportedly be available for as little as £38million in the summer – a price tag sure to prick up the ears of many a top European club. But Tuttosport (via ESPN) claim the trio of English sides are ‘all in pole position’. We’re not sure how more than one of them can be in pole position, but you get the point.

HAZARD STRETCH
Lucien Favre could persuade Eden Hazard to sign for Newcastle.

But Lucien Favre isn’t the manager of Newcastle, we hear you cry. You’re not wrong and it’s clearly been a slow morning for the Mirror.

They claim that Favre’s relationship with Eden’s brother, Thorgan, from their time together at Borussia Dortmund, could be enough to persuade Eden to join Newcastle. So it’s a huge stretch even before we take into account that Favre is not the Newcastle boss.

The story was manufactured on the back of Carlo Ancelotti’s comments about not forcing Real Madrid players to remain at the club if they wanted to leave.

“I have never in my coaching career forced a player who wants to leave to stay,” Ancelotti said. “In my personal opinion, there is no question about it. If a player wants to leave, he is going to leave. There is not much doubt about this.”

Hazard has been linked with a return to Chelsea as well as a move to St James’ Park.

JESSE THE MAGPIE
Newcastle are interested in signing Manchester United star Jesse Lingard in January, according to The Sun.

Lingard has been struggling to make Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s starting line-up and wants more game time to give him the best chance of making Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad.

The winger has been linked with a number of clubs, including the Magpies who will have cash to burn in the winter window.

West Ham are also said to be keeping tabs on the England international after his impressive loan stint at the London Stadium last season.
