Field of Streams – Week 8 Streaming Options by @JJGosh

Week 8 Streaming options to help you dominate your week

For those of you new to fantasy football, or if you are just looking for a new strategy, “Streaming” is the idea of selecting somebody from the Free Agent pool or waiver wire based on favorable matchups. This strategy is particularly effective if you failed to draft an elite player at QB, TE, or DEF.

The NFL changes quite a bit from week to week and year to year, I will try to help alleviate your concerns and focus on players that I would try and stream. Much like last year, with the potential for added roster spots (thanks, COVID) this year will be difficult to Stream. Most leagues have expanded rosters, so this year, I will be looking at only players who are available in AT/UNDER 50% of Yahoo leagues. All options may not be available in your specific league.

Week 7 proved to be yet another successful week for Field of Streams. Tua came through with a monster 32.54 fantasy points and finished as the QB3 on the week. Jameis and Teddy Bridgewater also turned in solid performances, finishing as the QB15 and QB16 respectively, which definitely didn’t lose you the week. Ricky Seals-Jones finished as the TE12 with 8.10 fantasy points, and Evan Engram and Cole Kmet also finished respectfully as the TE14 and TE16. As expected, the Saints vs Seahawks game was #NotGreat, and both DST’s finished as top-10 units. The Saints scored 11 fantasy points and finished as the 8th best DST, while the Seahawks scored 9 fantasy points, finishing as the 9th best DST on the week. With fewer bye weeks this week, check out who can help you get another win in Week 8.

Quarterback

Trevor Lawrence @ SEA, 41%

Coming off a bye, with an extra week to prepare for a below-average defense, here’s hoping Urban Meyer and his staff have a good game plan for Lawrence. He hasn’t thrown for multiple touchdowns since week 1, but he has 20+ rushing yards in 4 of his 6 games played, giving him a solid floor.

Teddy Bridgewater vs WAS, 21% Rostered

A relatively disappointing week last week, but he was playing with an injury. With a little bit of extra time to recover, and playing against a much worse defense in the Football Team, we’re hoping for a big bounce back from Teddy. Washington can stop the run but are one of the best teams to attack through the air.

Daniel Jones @ KC, 28% Rostered

Kansas City is getting wrecked on defense. Every week, they seem to give up solid performances across the board. Hopefully, Jones gets some of his weapons back, but even if he doesn’t, I anticipate a solid week from him.

Tight End

Jonnu Smith @LAC, 38% Rostered

Touchdown regression has to come for Hunter Henry at some point, hopefully, it’s this week. The Patriots are trying to scheme up ways to get Jonnu the ball, giving him a rush attempt last week. Hopefully, that continues this week.

CJ Uzomah @ NYJ 20% Rostered

This feels like chasing points a bit from his monster performance last week, but this week, he gets the Jets who are absolutely terrible at defending the Tight End. Seemingly a favorite of Burrow’s when Chase is covered, I wouldn’t bet against another big game this week.

Evan Engram @ KC, 31% Rostered

Time to get burned by Engram, again. He’s turning in “meh” performances, we just need him to find the end zone. Kansas City may be one of the better matchups he sees all year.

Defense/Special Teams

Cincinnati Bengals @ NYJ, 20% Rostered

The Bengals had a really good performance against Lamar Jackson last week, and now they get the lowly Jets and their backup QB. Not sure I really need to explain why they’re a great streaming DST this week.

Washington Football Team @ DEN, 33% Rostered

The Football Team was high on most lists for Defenses coming into the year, but have largely underperformed. They still have an amazing front-four, and if they can get pressure on Bridgewater, they could force him into some mistakes.

Los Angeles Chargers vs NE, 17% Rostered

Not a great week for Streaming DST’s, but the Patriots have had a tendency to turn the ball over a bit this year. The Chargers have playmakers at all levels, so I’m looking for them to rattle the rookie QB this week.

Stay tuned next week to see the results from all the players mentioned above, as well as my streamers for next week. Follow me on Twitter for more updates and insight @jjgosh.
