October 20, 2021 – Major League Soccer (MLS) – Colorado Rapids News Release
Dominique Badji scored in the second half to help deliver the Colorado Rapids a 1-1 draw with Seattle Sounders FC on Wednesday night at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park. The draw extends the Rapids’ unbeaten streak at home to 14 matches.
After a scoreless first half, it was the combination of Jack Price and Badji to pulled the Rapids out of the deadlock with a set piece header to earn the lead. The duo capitalized off of the Rapids’ fifth corner of the night as Price’s deliverance was picked off in the box by Badji to sail past Seattle’s Stephen Frei and into the net. Price’s assist tallies his season record to 12, a Rapids high previously set by Omar Cummings in 2009. Price continues to lead the league in set piece assists with eight.
Seattle responded with a goal of its own in the 81st minute as Léo Chú and Cristian Roldan combined for a close-range shot to equalize.
In addition to the extension of the Rapids unbeaten streak at home, Drew Moor made his 200th appearance with the club on Wednesday night. He is the second player in burgundy to achieve that milestone
The Rapids now look ahead to their second matchup with Portland of the 2021 season on October 23. They will continue their homestead at DSG against the Timbers with hopes to gain the upper hand in the series after battling with Portland to a 2-2 draw on July 4.
