Jim
Miller, Nate
Landwehr, Bruno Silva
and Danaa
Batgerel each received $50,000 “Performance of the Night”
bonuses for their work in the Octagon at
UFC Fight Night 195 on Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las
Vegas.
Miller gave newcomer Erick
Gonzalez a rude promotional welcome, winning via knockout in a
featured lightweight encounter. The 38-time UFC veteran countered a
Gonzalez kick with a left cross that dropped the Combate Americas
veteran instantly, ending the contest 14 seconds into Round 2.
Meanwhile, Landwehr got an extra check by virtue of securing the
first submission of his 19-fight professional tenure against
Ludovit
Klein in a featherweight affair. The former M-1 Global champion
pressured Klein with punches in the third round before snapping his
foe down with a front headlock and rolling for an anaconda choke to
force the tapout at the 2:22 mark of the period.
Earlier, Silva rallied for a third-round stoppage of Andrew
Sanchez in a preliminary middleweight pairing. After dropping
the first two rounds to “The Ultimate Fighter 23” winner, Silva
staged a comeback on his fading foe, teeing off on Sanchez with a
flurry of unanswered punches for a TKO win 2:35 into Round 3.
Finally, Batgerel garnered the evening’s final performance bonus on
the strength of a technical knockout victory over Brandon
Davis at bantamweight. The Jackson-Wink MMA product pressured
Davis with power punches, dropped him with an overhand right and
again with another barrage of strikes. From there, Batgerel pursued
the finish with knees, elbows and punches until the contest was
halted at the 2:01 mark of Round 1.
