In an interview published in today’s L’Équipe, Nice striker Andy Delort discussed the reaction his former fans at Montpellier had when he signed for Les Aiglons this summer, expressing his disappointment at their hostility. The forward also notably discussed the role Christophe Galtier played in his arrival.
“It hurt me a lot. They didn’t take into account my desire to go above, everything I did for Montpellier in three seasons. I can understand them but I didn’t think it would go this far. Because I’m a child of the club, it didn’t go well.”
“[On whether he signed to be with Christophe Galtier] Of course, and to be a part of the project. I am even happier when I see all of the facilities. It’s the most professional, the most well-managed of the clubs I’ve been in. Galtier brings in this culture of winning to the team but also the whole club, the whole city, that’s what’s extraordinary with him”
