Would serial winner Antonio Conte want to take the Newcastle job with Mike Ashley in charge coming off a transfer window where the club made one senior signing? The 52-year-old is also a proven Premier League head coach thanks to his time at Stamford Bridge. Conte managed 76 games in the English top-flight and averaged 2.14 points per game as he picked up 51 wins in those matches, winning one title in the process.
This is why Newcastle fans should be on cloud nine with this news. The Italian has shown that he has the quality to lead a team to the title in this country. That is not to say that his arrival at St. James’ Park would immediately make them title contenders, but it does mean that he could instil a winning mentality and help them to climb the table.
