Roma boss Jose Mourinho has mocked Lazio once again, stating that the Giallorossi lost to a ‘small’ team in the Derby della Capitale.
Mourinho’s Roma picked up a comfortable 3-0 win over Zorya in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday and they now remain unbeaten in Europe. After the game, Mourinho was speaking to Roma TV and he also took a sly dig at Lazio.
The Portuguese claimed: “We won and it’s the most important thing. A few days ago, we dominated against a team that seemed small and we lost. Football is like that, the result is the most important.
“There was balance in the first half, then Zaniolo and Abraham did very well and created greater dangers. After the second goal the game was over. Six points in two matches are important, we are almost there for qualification.”
Controversy had brewed in the Derby della Capitale, Mourinho had claimed that Lazio got favourable decisions by the referee while Maurizio Sarri bit back by stating that the Giallorossi shouldn’t have had a penalty themselves.
