September 28, 2021 – Major League Soccer (MLS) – Orlando City SC News Release
ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando City SC (10-8-8, 38 points) concludes its three-game road trip with a match at Nashville SC (11-3-12, 45 points) on Wednesday, Sept. 29 at Nissan Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 8:30 p.m. ET with coverage set to begin at 8 p.m. ET on FOX35 PLUS.
Wednesday’s match will also be available to stream on LionNation TV in addition to being transmitted on 96.9 The Game in English and Acción 97.9FM, 810AM in Spanish.
“Talking about Nashville [SC], the way that they play and the way that they have done their job, I think that they have a very rigid model with not many changes,” said Head Coach Oscar Pareja “Especially in comparison with the game that we [already] played with them in Nashville, their typical 1-5-3-2 that we see against other teams. A team that has confidence too, a team that has gotten good results and we’re now with the urgency that is obviously trying to get out of this difficult moment.”
The Lions will look for their second result at Nissan Stadium in the calendar year, having taken a 1-1 draw in their last visit to the Music City on Aug. 18. Antonio Carlos scored the lone goal for City in that match in what served as his third for the Club.
City returns to play after falling to the New England Revolution 2-1 in its last outing. Daryl Dike scored for the Lions in the match in what served as his fourth finish of the year for the side.
Nani leads the Lions with nine goals in 2021, followed by Dike and Benji Michel each with four. Mauricio Pereyra holds the team-high in assists with 10 after adding another on Dike’s finish in New England over the weekend.
Nashville comes into the midweek after battling to a scoreless draw in Chicago on Sunday. Goalkeeper Joe Willis tallied three saves in the match en route to his league-high 11th clean sheet of the season.
Hany Mukhtar leads Nashville with 12 goals this season, followed by C.J. Sapong with 10. Mukhtar also holds the team-high in assists with nine to his credit.
Following Wednesday’s match, City faces a quick turnaround, set to return to Exploria Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 2 in a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff. Tickets are available here or by calling (855) ORL-CITY.
