A report from England over the weekend has provided an insight into Crystal Palace’s hunt for a striker.
Crystal Palace need goals
Crystal Palace’s start to the 2021/22 campaign has been fairly underwhelming.
They would begin their season by being hammered 3-0 by European champions, Chelsea.
This was followed by the Eagles then failing to score a goal against newly-promoted Brentford and being forced to settle for a 0-0 draw.
Palace were then in League Cup action in midweek, but would lose 1-0 to Watford.
Granted, they would then pick up their first point of the season over the weekend by drawing 2-2 with West Ham.
However, on-loan midfielder Conor Gallagher would score both of Palace’s goals on the day.

Crystal Palace’s striker hunt
This still leaves Wilfried Zaha, Jordan Ayew and Christian Benteke goalless after four games of the season.
So, it would seemingly make sense for Patrick Viera to add some much-needed firepower up top before the window shuts.
And, as mentioned above, the Sun have provided an update on Palace’s striker hunt this week.
They claim that Palace are willing to spend £12m on Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah, though Arsenal are believed to have initially wanted £20m but may drop the fee.
Elsewhere, Crystal Palace are believed to have tabled a £15m offer for Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard, who Ruben Kazan are to said to have bid for whilst Bordeaux and Nice are to credited with an interest in the hitman.
And finally, Palace are eyeing a loan swoop for Real Madrid’s 24-year-old forward Borja Mayoral, who could be recalled from his loan spell at AS Roma.
