BT Sport pundit Michael Owen is expecting Manchester City to secure a comfortable win when they face Arsenal in the lunchtime kickoff.
Although he doesn’t believe the Citizens are playing their best football yet, Owen still thinks they will have more than enough to see off the Gunners at the Etihad Stadium:
“I still don’t think City are fully firing on all cylinders in an attacking sense just yet, but I still see no other winner here. Arsenal have yet to score a goal this season and I don’t think that will change.”
Owen has gone with a 2-0 victory for the home side, which seems like a reasonable prediction. You would expect Arsenal to sit back as manager Mikel Arteta will be fearing a heavy defeat.
Pep Guardiola’s men may, therefore, have to be patient to break them down and, while the Gunners could offer some threat on the counter-attack, they have been pretty blunt in front of goal during their two league matches so far.
City will try and exploit their opponent’s weaknesses, particularly at the back with Ben White likely to be absent. The likes of Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling will be key in order to get in behind and create the chances that will secure the three points.
