There were three of them still in the race for the position of national technical director: Martine Dupond, Max Bresolin and Vincent Rognon. Nothing had filtered out on any favorite at the post, the only official information being that the name of the new DTN was announced on Tuesday.
Martine Dupond, 54, was chosen. Triple bronze medalist at the European Championships (1987, 1988 and 1993), senior national coach between 2009 and 2016, she became responsible for the women’s team during the 2012-2016 Olympiad at the same time as high level director. For several years, she held responsibilities as Deputy DTN in charge of Training and Education. She becomes the second female DTN after Brigitte Deydier (2005-2009).
