Tottenham fans should not boo Harry Kane if he makes an appearance at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
It has been a topsy-turvy summer for the top scoring striker, who captained England to the Euro 2020 final but then fell foul of some of his club supporters afterwards.
Kane is said to have failed to turn up to training as expected at the beginning of August and was been criticised by some of the White Hart Lane faithful as a result.
The England captain has been subject to several bids from City and it is being reported the club are not giving up on him and are willing to offer £127.2 million to secure his services.
Tottenham host Man City in their first game of the new season and supporter Craig Mitch believes the 28-year-old Kane should still command the respect from everyone associated with Spurs.
“I think any Tottenham fan that boos Harry Kane is a disgrace. That’s personally what I think,” he told talkSPORT’s GameDay Countdown.
“I don’t think him missing five days of training should then eradicate all the joyful moments he has given you as a player.
“For me, has given me some of the most joyful moments over the last five, six years, goals, he turns up in almost every north London derby.”
“[The fans] are going be upset with him. I was at box park and I met a Spurs fan there and he said ‘nah I’ve lost respect for him, I’m kinda done with him.’
“To me that just breaks my heart. I don’t care if he leaves, I don’t care if he leaves for £100 million, I don’t care if tells [Chairman Daniel] Levy or hands in a transfer request.
“I will always respect what Harry Kane has done for this club, he’s one of our greats.”
