Former Manchester City forward Lee completes Brighton & Hove Albion return

Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the signing of former Manchester City forward Lee Geum-min on a permanent basis according to reports on the club’s official website.

The 27-year-old South Korean international attacker netted three goals in 17 appearances for Albion in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League last season during a season-long loan spell with the club. The player significantly improved her match fitness during her time in Sussex and Albion were really beginning to reap the rewards towards the end of Lee’s loan spell.

Upon the expiry of Lee’s loan stay, Albion boss Hope Powell told FAWSL Full-Time that she was keen to bring the player back to the club on a permanent basis and that deal has today been completed.

After acquiring Lee’s services on a permanent basis, Powell said “We’re delighted to welcome Lee to the club on a permanent basis.

“I felt she got better as the season wore on and finished it really strongly.

“I do think she can get even better and I’m looking forward to working with her this season.”

Powell is known for biding her time in the transfer market to ensure that she agrees deals which are right for the club. Her cautious approach has resulted in Albion making just three additions so far this summer. Lee joins fellow forwards Danielle Carter and Rinsola Babajide in moving to Albion so far this summer.
