With the renowned LAAX OPEN, the FIS Snowboard Tour opens the 2020/21 season for Slopestyle and Halfpipe. Under lightning–blue skies and the best snow conditions, Slopestyle Semi-Finalists (women and men) went into an intense competition. Olympic Slopestyle champion Jamie Anderson (USA) and Moritz Boll (SUI) took the lead and are entering the finals on Friday, 22 January 2021 with confidence.
Unbeatable today was four-time LAAX winner Jamie Anderson. The experienced and seasoned US-American showed her class with two very rock solid runs. She was already in the lead after the first run, but rather than resting on her laurels, she instead improved her score in the second run. Among others, Jamie showed a Cab Double Underflip 900 Weddle and Frontside 720 Weddle at the kickers. Watch Jamie’s second run here. Zoi Synnott Sadowski‘s (NZL) performance stood out with inimitable style, which got her into second place, followed by Japanese Kokomo Murase coming in third.
For the men, Swiss Mortiz Boll was already in the lead after the first run. None of his competitors could challenge him and as it stands, Moritz is the lucky winner of today’s semi-finals. Behind him in second place was his compatriot, Nicolas Huber. Germany’s Leon Vockensperger surprised in third place. Here you can watch Moritz’s first run.
With the performances shown today, the suspense is enormous as to what Friday’s finals 22.01.2021 will bring as of 13:15 CET. Find all live streams on the LAAX OPEN website: https://open.laax.com/de/watch-live/
