Ange Postecoglou issued a bullish response to what he felt were repetitive questions after his team’s 2-1 loss to Hearts.
A late John Souttar goal condemned Celtic to a second big defeat in a week after Anthony Ralston had cancelled out Gary Mackay-Steven’s early opener.
Despite that, Postecoglou felt his team could have taken all three points but admitted his players need to improve at closing games out.
“It’s a game we could have won and we didn’t,” he told Sky Sports.
“We’ve got to get better at closing our games, we’ve got to keep improving. We’ve got a game Thursday and we’ve got to bounce back and get a win.
“We can’t afford time. We’ve got to bounce back and get results.”
When asked if he seemed to be repeating what he said after the damaging defeat to FC Midtjylland, Postecoglou turned the premise back on the interviewer.

He said: “You’re asking me the same questions so I’m going to repeat the same answers.
“That’s where we’re at at the moment but hopefully with every game that aspect improves. Carl Starfelt had one session with the team, Kyogo arrived and probably it’s unfair from me to throw them out there.
“I just felt after 120 minutes on Wednesday night we just needed some fresh legs and some momentum.
“Once we got back into the game we looked comfortable and looked like we were going to take it out but it didn’t happen.”
Asked if the performance leaves him with more questions than answers, he replied: “Not more questions than answers.
“I think we know where we’re at and what we need to do.
“It takes time, it takes training sessions, it takes time, it takes games.
“At the moment we’re throwing teams together, I am anyway, and that’s affecting it.
“But put that all aside, because that all sounds like excuses even as I’m saying it. It’s still a game we could have won.”
