Here we are again, addressing the decisions of many Chelsea youngsters’ decisions to leave the club in search of first team football after failing to see a clear pathway into the first team at the club.
Tino Livramento looks set to now join Brighton, and he is probably the most surprising decision we have seen be made. I thought he would have seen how Thomas Tuchel lined up last season with wing backs, saw how we missed out on signing Achraf Hakimi and have not advanced for any other wing back signings as of yet, and gone out there and claimed that spot.
Brighton are closing in on a deal for Tino Livramento as they look to finalise a fee with Chelsea after the 18-year-old rejected contract offers to remain in west London.

However, I don’t blame him for taking a different route, that is his prerogative. And I can’t help but think that a massive factor in his decisive choice to leave the club is the fact that Chelsea are now in talks with another right wing back, Dujon Sterling, over him renewing his contract at the club.
Chelsea are in talks with Dujon Sterling over a new contract. He’s in top physical condition and has impressed Thomas Tuchel.

So not only does Livramento have Reece James and Cesar Azpilicueta ahead of him, he also has Sterling, who is reportedly training very well and impressing Thomas Tuchel.
Him leaving after hearing these developments, makes a lot more sense to me now and makes it easier to understand.
Listen, I’m sure he will come back to haunt us, but you cannot doubt Sterling’s ability either, and he has more experience and is slightly older, meaning he is more ‘ready made’ to play right away in Tuchel’s team.
