ST MIRREN have rejected a £300,000 bid from Wigan for midfielder Jamie McGrath.
SunSport can also reveal the Buddies have turned down a £100,000 swoop from Rotherham for defender Conor McCarthy.
The two offers from the English League One outfits have fallen short of the Paisley club’s valuation for both Irishman.
But Saints are now braced from fresh approaches for their two star players – and will sell if the price is right.
Aberdeen lodged an interest in Ireland cap McGrath, 24, before Wigan made their move.
And it’s understood another English club is waiting in the wings ready to swoop.
Rotherham are also understood to be preparing another bid for centre back McCarthy, 23.
Buddies boss Jim Goodwin signed both players on the promise that the club would not stand in their way should acceptable offers come in.

As yet the bids have not hit the club’s valuation with McGrath rated at around £500,000 and McCarthy up for grabs for around £200,000.

And his Buddies teammate Lee Erwin is a shock target for newly-promoted Turkish side Altay SK.
Scotland Under-21 star Erhahon had a loan spell with the Tykes in the English Championship in the 2019-20 season.
And he is back on their radar after shining for Jim Goodwin’s Saints last season.
The versatile 20-year-old still has two years to run on his contract with the Paisley club.
But Barnsley are considering a move this summer and could table an offer of around £250,000 plus add-ons, though Saints are likely to put a higher value on the midfielder.
