Rangers have rejected ‘a number of bids’ for defender George Edmundson as the defender looks set for a second chance at Ibrox.
The 23-year-old centre-back was sent on-loan to Wayne Rooney’s Derby County for the second-half of last season, and missed out on the Gers ‘ Premiership title celebrations last month.
Edmundson played 10 times in the English Championship for the Rams and played a key role in helping the club avoid relegation to League One, and now the Derby Telegraph claim he’s wanted back at Pride Park on a permanent basis.
Steven Gerrard ‘s side have reportedly turned down several offers from Derby to sign Edmundson, with the Englishman set to rival Connor Goldson, Filip Helander, Leon Balogun and Nikola Katic for a starting berth in Glasgow next season.
Edmundson showed potential during the 2019/20 season, particularly in the Europa League, where he put in an outstanding display away from home against Portuguese cracks Braga but it remains to be seen whether he has the chops to cut it as a Rangers regular.
